Ty Cobb, nicknamed "The Georgia Peach," was regarded by some as the best player of the dead-ball era, and is generally viewed as one of the best baseball players of all time.

 

In 1936, Cobb collected the most votes of any one player on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot, in which he received 222 out of 226 votes. Ty Cobb is widely credited with setting 90 MLB records during his career. He still holds several records as of 2009, including the most career batting titles with 11, and highest career batting average of (.367).
